$30K in medical supplies stolen from Statesville hospital

»  Comments | Post a Comment

A $30,000 set of screws, used exclusively for surgical procedures, was stolen from Iredell Memorial Hospital on Valentine’s Day.

Statesville Police Chief Tom Anderson said the screw set belonged to Torlan Medical Supply Co. and was brought to IMH on Feb. 14 for a procedure. When the representative went back to get the screw set, Anderson said, it was missing.

Anderson said there were a limited number of people who had access to the area where the set was kept, and an investigation is under way to find the person responsible and to recover the set.
