North Iredell High School will host its annual Madrigal Dinner on Dec. 15.
The reception hall of Fairview Baptist Church, 349 Turnersburg Highway, will be transformed into the Grand Hall of King Kolby Usrey and Queen McKenzie Call. The royal couple, along with the rest of the madrigal singers, will perform a plethora of seasonal songs during the event as well as perform a comedy skit. The dinner guests of the King will be served an appetizer, main course, dessert and drinks.
The script centers around a traveling troubadour (Ayla Stevenson) who meets the royal court’s seasoned jester (Meggan Campbell). The altercation falls into a “Jester off” and they fall into competition, joke battles and even a sword duel.
“Masters in this Hall,” “Silent Night” and “Carol of the Bells” are among the featured songs.
Tickets are available for $15 for adults and $10 for current students.
Contact Choral Director Dan Ryan at (704) 876-4191 or daniel_ryan@iss.k12.nc.us for more information or to reserve tickets. Proceeds will support the NIHS choral department and future events.
