Armed suspect takes narcotics from pharmacy

The Statesville Police Department is investigating the robbery of a local pharmacy.

A man walked into the CVS Pharmacy, 178 Turnersburg Highway, around 9:40 p.m. Friday.

He went to the pharmacy counter, displayed a handgun and demanded narcotics, said Sgt. Kenny Cornelius.

The suspect demanded the pharmacist give him all the oxycontin in the store, Cornelius said.
Once he received the oxycontin, he left the store.

The suspect was described as a white male, 25 to 35 years old, with reddish/brown facial hair. He was approximately 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall.
