The Iredell County Health Department will offer walk-in clinics for the 2009 H1N1 vaccine at the Iredell County Health Department at 318 Turnersburg Hwy Statesville from 1-6 pm on the following dates: February 11th, 18th and 25th.

They will also conduct walk-in clinics at the Iredell County Health Department in Mooresville from 1-5 pm on February 10th and February 24th for the 2009 H1N1 flu vaccine. The health department in Mooresville is located at 610 East Center Ave.

An additional walk-in clinic will be held on February 11th at the Mooresville Public Library from 9am- 12 pm. The Mooresville Public Library is located at 304 S. Main St.

There is no charge for the 2009 H1N1 flu vaccine at the Health Department.

While adults only need one dose of the 2009 H1N1 vaccine, children less than 10 years of age will need two doses of the 2009 H1N1 flu vaccine to be fully protected.

You can get vaccinated with either a flu shot (for people six months and older) or a nasal spray vaccine (healthy people 2 years through 49 years of age who are not pregnant). The nasal spray vaccine is a good option for those who may have a fear of needles. Flu vaccines are very safe and closely monitored for any potential side effects.

The CDC and Iredell County Health Department recommend that persons six months and older receive the 2009 H1N1 flu vaccine.
