Iredell County Recycling Coordinator Diane Lewis reminds residents of the upcoming plastic bottle landfill disposal ban going into effect Oct. 1.

This statewide ban prohibits any recyclable plastic bottle from entering a North Carolina landfill. Motor oil bottles and pesticide containers are excluded.

The City of Statesville offers curbside pick up inside city limits. The Town of Mooresville offers curbside pick up in certain areas of Mooresville city limits. The Iredell County Solid Waste Department offers five locations for recycling. The Town of Troutman has two locations that are available for Troutman residents to use only.
