A Danville, Va., man was arrested on trafficking charges after an undercover operation involving local and federal agencies.

Alfonso Mora-Perez, 31, of Danville, Va., faces multiple counts of cocaine trafficking.

Iredell Sheriff Phil Redmond said deputies from the Iredell County Sheriff's Office, working in conjunction with the Davie and Wilkes County Sheriff's offices, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Mora-Perez after he delivered one kilo of cocaine to an undercover Iredell sheriff's deputy, who was posing as a customer.

The transaction happened in Mocksville.

At the time of the sale, Redmond said, Mora-Perez was on federal supervised release following a federal drug conviction in Virginia. He was released from custody several months before the August drug deal, Redmond said.

Mora-Perez is currently being held in the Davie County Jail.
