Wildlife cruise set for Saturday

Mooresville area historian and author Cindy Jacobs, fishing guide Gus Gustafson and biologist Ken Manuel will be featured narrators on this year's Lake Norman Wildlife Cruise which sets sail at 1:30 p.m. Saturday from Queens Landing, 1459 River Hwy. in Mooresville.

Proceeds from the tour will help support wildlife conservation projects run by the Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists, a chapter of the North Carolina Wildlife Federation.

Live and silent auction items include fishing trips with Gustafson and G. Richard Mode, two months of Jazzercise, a Wildlife Habitat Assessment & Design Consultation by Jan Enright, a Daveste Vineyards Wine Basket and a bird feeder kit from Wild Birds Unlimited.

Boarding time begins at 12:45 p.m. and return time is 4 p.m., rain or shine. Refreshments will include heavy hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.

Cruise tickets, which are $40 each or $75 for two, are still available but should be pre-ordered.
