As part of the 20th national observance of Recovery Month, Crossroads Behavioral Healthcare announces five initiatives targeted to support recovery for those in our community with addictive and/or mental health disorders.
These new initiatives and services are:
Iredell Academy on Substance Abuse Awareness and Recovery – a panel of thirteen citizens who will be working over the next year to develop community initiatives and support for adults working toward recovery from addictive disorders.
Walk-in Clinics – recently opened in Statesville and Mount Airy to better serve citizens. As with urgent care medical walk-in clinics, these clinics will see consumers from Iredell, Surry, and Yad-kin counties without an appointment between the hours of 8 and 5. Operated by Crossroads net-work provider, New River Behavioral HealthCare the walk-in clinics operate at the Statesville of-fice at 318 Turnersburg Highway and at the Mount Airy Clinic at 351 Riverside Drive.
Recovery Education Center -- based on evidence based practices the center specializes in self-directed, person-centered planning to promote and achieve dignity, respect and recovery. The first center is located at the Statesville office, Turnersburg Highway. A second center is scheduled to open at the Mount Airy office later this year.
Connecting the Dots – a grant funded program in Surry County to reduce the incident of alco-hol-related traffic incidents just completed its public awareness launch and is focusing on reach-ing the teens in Surry County.
Reclaiming Futures – funded through Robert Woods Johnson and Z. Smith Reynolds, this effort is directed toward court-involved youth.
