A one-vehicle crash Friday morning in Troutman led to the arrest of a Statesville man.

State troopers arrested James Edward Eury, 41, of Statesville, who was charged with driving while intoxicated.

Authorities said Eury was traveling on Brawley Road, a road between Ostwalt Amity and Shinnville, shortly after 9 a.m. when he wrecked his vehicle.

Eury was driving a 1969 Chevy pickup when he drove off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and went off the left side of the road, striking a tree and overturning, according to Trooper Staton Fox.

Fox said Eury was partially ejected and pinned under the vehicle.

"The good thing was he received minor injuries," Fox said. "The bad thing was he was arrested for DWI."

Eury admitted to drinking the night before, Fox said.

He was arrested and released on an unsecured bond and will appear in court in October.
