Statesville Christian moved into the quarterfinals of the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association state volleyball championship with a 3-1 win Tuesday over Elon School.
The Lions won 25-23, 20-25, 25-15, 25-11 to improve to 24-2 on the season.
Madison Vaughn recorded 21 kills to go along with five blocks for Statesville Christian, which is seeded No. 2 in the 16-team bracket.
Krystal Moose finished with 18 digs while Katie Lamm had 24 assists.
Statesville Christian plays in the quarterfinals at noon Friday against No. 10 seed Oakwood School (16-3).
The rest of the tournament will be held at Wayne Christian School in Goldsboro.
If the Lions win, they'll play again in the semifinals at 8 p.m.
