It's time for ghosts, ghouls, goblins and costumed kids of all sorts in downtown Statesville.
The annual Downtown Statesville Development Corporation Halloween Trick or Treat will be held this Friday from 4-6 p.m. in the city's central business district.
Organizers say the event is a safe way for children to receive goodies from downtown businesses.
Trick or Treating has become a staple event in downtown Statesville. Upwards of 1,000 children have participated each of the last several years.
"It's exciting to see the sidewalks of downtown come to life with the hundreds of parents and children taking part," said DSDC Executive Director Marin Tomlin.
Participating businesses will display an orange pumpkin with the downtown logo as its nose in their window.
