West Iredell 3, J.M. Robinson 1

West Iredell advanced to the second round of the 3A state playoffs Saturday with a 3-1 opening-round win over J.M. Robinson.

Paige Courson had 13 kills for the Warriors (20-1), who won 25-23, 15-25, 25-17, 25-15.

Anna Johnson added 11 kills and six digs, and Jordan Ostwalt dished out 40 assists in addition to serving two aces.

West will host either Harding or Hickory Ridge on Tuesday.
