Although the Greyhounds were bounced from the dual-team tennis playoffs, they still had a few players competing for individual honors over the weekend.

Ali Boggs received a bye into the North Piedmont Conference tournament semifinals and qualified as an individual while Azul Zapata teamed with fellow senior Claire Balatow in the doubles tournament.

Greyhounds head coach Shelley Wolf said Boggs advanced far enough in the tournament to grab a top four spot and will represent the Greyhounds at the 3A individual state championship next week.

"It's a good way to end the season for me," Zapata said. "Claire is not only my friend on the court, she's like my best friend off court. We have a lot of chemistry together on the court. We know what the other needs to do while we're playing."
