Freshman Carlis Parker has given the Greyhounds a boost since taking over as starting quarterback.
Now, he has a win to show for it as well.
Parker rushed for a touchdown and was instrumental in helping lead the Greyhounds to a 14-12 win Friday over North Iredell.
"Parker's learning the game really well," Statesville coach Randall Gusler said. "It's tremendous the way that he's stepping up and making plays like he's making, to be a freshman. We're really just super-excited about him."
