Beulah Baptist Church will support its mission team by teeing off at Fox Den Country Club.
The church will host the golf tournament fundraiser, called the Beulah Baptist Open, on Saturday, Oct. 31, at Fox Den.
"We're really excited about it," Pastor Allen Roberts said.
Registration begins at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start following at 12:30 p.m. The entry fee per player is $60 and includes two mulligans per player. There will be door prizes.
Roberts said the original goal of tournament organizers was a 20-team field, but they've already surpassed that.
All the proceeds after clearing expenses will support the mission team's trip to Cuba next year.
"This is our primary way to raise funds and ease the financial burden for those who want to go," he said.
Funds from the golf tournament will defray the $1,500-per-person price of the trip, which is scheduled for Nov. 5-12, 2010.
The mission team will help rebuild an area of Cuba hit hard by hurricanes. Members will build roofs for schoolhouses and homes and will lead worship services at a local church.
