The volleyball team's upset loss Tuesday to Carson in the semifinals of the NPC tournament was a rare setback for the Raiders.

It was North's first loss to an NPC team other than West Iredell since 2005, when Mooresville ruled the league and defeated the Raiders twice.

The Raiders (19-4), who swept the season series with Carson, would have had an NPC tournament championship showdown and rematch with West Iredell, the NPC regular season and tournament champion. West beat North twice during the season.
