Warriors win NPC volleyball tournament

LANDIS - West Iredell added North Piedmont Conference tournament champion to its resume Wednesday.
The regular season NPC champs held off a spirited Carson squad to claim a 3-1 (25-20, 21-25, 25-23, 25-17) victory.
Jordan Ostwalt handed out 38 assists for West, which opens the 3A state playoffs Saturday at home.
Anna Johnson added 12 kills while Tess Sigmon had nine kills, eight blocks, four digs and three aces.
Ashley Frye also played well as she finished with six kills and three blocks.
The Warriors open the playoffs against the No. 4 seed from the South Piedmont Conference.
