Vikings will honor fallen soldier, alum

South Iredell's boys soccer team will play its third game in three days today, but the major storyline is what's happening before the match.
The Vikings soccer team will present a banner to the family of Mark McDowell, a South Iredell graduate who died in July while serving in Afghanistan.
McDowell, an air force captain, graduated in 2001 and was a key player on South's soccer teams while in high school.
McDowell's airplane went down in Afghanistan, killing him and his weapons officer.
