Lauryn Justice's spectacular season in Catawba Valley Athletic Conference play gave her a No. 2 seed at last weekend's singles tournament.
It paid off, too, as Justice faced an easier road to the semifinals and wound up with a third-place finish.
That was easily good enough for her to qualify for this weekend's 2A West Regional.
"Everything went well," Justice said of her performance last weekend.
The top four singles players at this weekend's regional tournament will qualify for the 2A state championship.
After making extraordinary progress in her high school career, that remains the goal for Justice.
"It's my last chance to obtain that goal before I graduate," Justice said. "I'll have to play smart, play a lot of angles and hope that my serve is on."
