Cougars stun North Iredell in NPC semifinals

LANDIS - Carson pulled the surprise of the North Piedmont Conference tournament Tuesday, shocking North Iredell with a 3-2 win.

The Cougars won 12-25, 25-16, 25-23, 20-25, 15-11 to advance to today's championship.

Haley Rhyne was tough all game for North, finishing with 17 kills, 10 digs and two aces.

Amy Shelton added 13 digs and 11 kills while Rachel Wells finished with 13 digs and 10 kills.

North Iredell was seeded No. 2 in the tournament. If Carson wins today, the Raiders will slip to the No. 3 seed.
