MOUNT HOLLY - Mooresville quickly made itself at home in the opening round of the state 4A tennis playoffs by dispatching East Gaston 6-0 on the road.

Only one match was even slightly contested as the Blue Devils (10-4) advanced into the second round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association dual team playoffs.

Kelly Henley, Kristen Carpenter and Caroline Carrasco all lost just one match in their singles win.

Ciera Combs and Maggie Siebert also cruised while Leondra Pridgen won 6-4, 0-6, 10-8 to give the Blue Devils a singles sweep.
