Wildcats relish upset victory over Hickory

Lake Norman's volleyball team may not have ruined Hickory's season, but the Wildcats spoiled the Red Tornadoes bid for perfection last Tuesday.

Lauren Steiner and Morgan Tucker each had 11 kills, and Molly Cotten added 10 as Lake Norman ended Hickory's unbeaten season with a 3-0 (29-27, 25-23, 25-18) victory on Senior Night for the Wildcats.

"They were undefeated and that felt great," Lake Norman volleyball coach Karen Poulin said.

Briana Gottberg (15 digs, three aces) and Fallon Davis (17 assists, 10 digs) also played important roles for Lake Norman in the upset.
