MOORESVILLE - Lake Norman got a big game from Lauren Steiner and defeated Mallard Creek 3-0 in the opening round of the I-Meck tournament.
Behind 14 kills from Steiner, the Wildcats won 25-7, 25-12, 25-22.
Molly Cotten and Madison Poovey both added five kills while Jensen Schott contributed with 10 digs and Fallon Davis had 14 assists.
Lake Norman (16-8), the No. 4 seed, plays top-seeded North Meck today in the semifinals. Game time is 5 p.m at Lake Norman.
