It's an all-too familiar story for the Mooresville girls cross country team.
After being decimated by injuries and illnesses a year ago, the Blue Devils face the exact same problems as regionals near.
"I wish I could figure it out," coach Mike Royal said. "It's kind of a reoccurring thing for us. We tried some things differently this year ... it's just tough."
Emily Nesbitt, the clear-cut No. 1 runner, is battling an injury and Jordan Greene, fresh off a great showing at the county championships, has been hampered with an illness.
"Jordan has really stepped up lately," Royal said. "It's just been a trying season for us so far."
