In a battle for first place in the NPC, Statesville's boys soccer team has some additional motivation.

According to the recently released playoff brackets, the North Piedmont's No. 1 seed will have homefield advantage throughout the West bracket.

The Greyhounds are 7-1 in NPC play and tied for first with four matches remaining.
