Gov. Bev Perdue has appointed Lisa Conger of Mooresville to the North Carolina Commission on Workforce Development.
Board duties are to enhance and develop strategies that produce a skilled and competitive workforce through various powers and duties. The commission has 38 members, each serving a four-year term. The governor appoints all members.
Conger is the director of career and technical education at Cabarrus County Schools. She is a member of the N.C. Association of Career and Technical Educators, the Centralina Workforce Development Board Youth Council and the N.C. Association of School Administrators. Conger was N.C. Association of Career and Technical Education Administrator's Regional Director of the Year from 2006 to 2007. She received her bachelor's degree in business administration and in psychology from Lenior-Rhyne University and her master's degree in school leadership and administration from N.C. A&T University.
