Stolen antiques recovered

More than $10,000 worth of stolen antique engines were recently recovered from a pawn shop in Forsyth County.
The six engines were found at the Clemmons Pawn Shop, said Iredell County Sheriff Phil Redmond. The two hot-air engines, three steam engines and one Hit or Miss gasoline engine were seized during an investigation conducted by Detective Sgt. Mark Nicholson.
Three antique Hit or Miss engines were recovered in early September from auction houses in Davie County.
The engines were stolen on Aug. 23 from a residence on Beechwood Farm Road, Nicholson said.
Nicholson said the investigation is ongoing and detectives are attempting to get information on the person who pawned the engines in Forsyth County. He said he expects an arrest to be made soon.
Coin machinery thefts
investigated in North Iredell
Two people face felony charges for breaking into several coin-operated machines.
Christopher Rex Allison, 20, of Olin and Jessie Lee Jones, 42, of Harmony were charged with five counts of breaking into a coin-operated machine, one count of misdemeanor larceny, one count of breaking and entering and one count of larceny after breaking and entering.
The Iredell County Sheriff's Office has been investigating a series of break-ins to coin-operated machines in northern Iredell County throughout September.
Detective Sgt. Derek Getz investigated the cases, and developed Allison and Jones as suspects.
The two also face similar charges in Wilkes County, and are currently in the Wilkes County Detention Center.
The five break-ins in Iredell County occurred at the Greenfield Market, 1076 Friendship Road; North Iredell Middle School, 2467 Jennings Road; Phil's Foodmart, 4277 Wilkesboro Highway; Southern Farm Supply, 2335 W. Memorial Highway; and Union Grove Feed Mill, 1868 W. Memorial Highway.
Capt. Darren Campbell said detectives are checking with surrounding jurisdictions to determine if there are similar cases.
