There are still a few power teams to face, but South Iredell's volleyball team is on the right track to a playoff spot.
With last week's all-important win over Maiden, the Vikings are 5-5 in Catawba Valley Athletic Conference play.
That puts them tied for fourth place with Jimmy Draughn — the top five teams are in line to get playoff berths.
"What we're looking to do right now is finish our conference schedule out strong," Vikings coach Kerry Baker said. "By doing that, I think we have the ability to come in and knock some teams off and potentially make state playoffs. That's our goal."
