Forestview girls down Lake Norman

GASTONIA - It looks like another strong year is in store for Gastonia Forestview, the defending 3A West Regional champion.

The Jaguars opened their season Thursday with a 69-48 win over visiting Lake Norman.

Marissa Riley led the Wildcats (0-1) with 13 points.

Landyn Mannion finished with eight points and senior Kasey Haynes, playing in her first game since tearing her ACL more than a year ago, scored six points.

Lake Norman hosts South Iredell on Monday.
