Carter G. Woodson scored nearly half its points in the first quarter, which didn't work out too well.

Statesville Christian outscored Woodson 45-9 over the second and third quarters to take a 79-27 win on Tuesday.

Freshman Clay Burden scored 24 points to lead the Lions.

Daniel DeGraff added 15 points while Garrison Dale and Devan Barlowe both had 10.
