Want an idea of just how balanced soccer is in the I-Meck 4A?
Look no further than Mooresville's squad.
Two weeks ago, with three games remaining in the uber-competitive league, the Blue Devils were tied for first place with North Meck.
When the playoffs begin Wednesday, though, Mooresville will be the I-Meck's No. 4 seed. Three consecutive losses to end the season sent Mooresville tumbling down the standings.
Mooresville still has an interesting draw. The Blue Devils will open the playoffs against Olympic (16-4-2), the No. 1 seed from the MEGA-7 Conference.
This season, Olympic lost to Vance, a team Mooresville beat twice. Olympic also tied Hopewell, which split the season series with Mooresville.
If the Blue Devils pull out a win, there's a very good chance they will play Lake Norman in the second round.
