Statesville Christian players honored

Drew Burgiss and Deborah DeGraff were both named to the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association's 1A all-state team in girls soccer.
The honor is the second in a row for Burgiss, who capped her stellar career at Statesville Christian with 13 goals and five assists from the midfield.
The award is the first, of what could be many, for DeGraff.
Just a seventh-grader, DeGraff made all-state after also scoring double-digit goals this year.
