Catcher Smith makes a statement

Mooresville catcher Hope Smith was one of two Iredell County players to be selected for the annual softball state games.
Smith, along with North Iredell pitcher Karley Harkey, was named to the 15-player Region 7 team.
The state softball games will be played June 15-18.
Smith led a young Blue Devils team this year and was one of the best power hitters in the county.
She finished the season hitting .375 with an on-base percentage of .483. Two of her hits this season cleared the fence for home runs.
