CHARLOTTE - Statesville Christian routed United Faith 11-1 on Thursday to win the South Piedmont Athletic Association tournament championship.
It marked the first time in SCS baseball history the Lions won a conference tournament title.
Daniel DeGraff led the way. He went 3-for-4 with a walk and four RBIs. His sixth-inning double plated a pair of baserunners to end the game.
DeGraff was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
Matthew Smith and Tommy Baldwin were 2-for-3, and Smith drove in three runs.
Baldwin picked up the win. He pitched all six innings, allowing two hits while striking out nine.
