Mooresville Graded School District officials have called a meeting Wednesday with community leaders and members of the district's Parent Advisory Committee to discuss newly proposed legislation that would provide state funding for only one school district per county.
A similiar bill, introduced by Sen. Tony Rand of Cumberland County, stalled in Raleigh last spring. The new bill, Senate Bill 265, is also authored by Rand.
Wednesday's meeting, open to the public, is at 5:30 p.m. at the Charles Mack Citizen Center.
