Why have people declared war on animals?
First, we read about the gruesome killing of a cow and injury of another due to an arrow strike.
Then we read about the dog shot in the head in Troutman, which was very questionable, not to mention what could have happened had a stray bullet hit an innocent bystander.
Then there was Karen Parker's letter to the editor about someone arbitrarily poisoning meat and dropping it in her neighborhood.
Have we, as a society, decided to take our economic frustrations out on the most vulnerable?
Mrs. Parker's incident with the poisoning of her beloved pet was nothing short of domestic terrorism and, like all terrorists, the act was cowardly and senseless.
If I had to profile the person or persons responsible for the mentioned atrocities to animals, it would read like this — uneducated, uninformed, out of touch with reality, and devoid of care for anything or anyone.
