A 27-year-old Reidsville woman died early Tuesday morning in a weather-related crash on U.S. Interstate 40 at the Iredell-Davie line.

Lindsey Erin Hudson, 27, died in surgery at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Her 17-year-old brother, Jordan, was injured in the wreck and taken to Davis Regional Medical Center.
Trooper Jason Fleming of the N.C. Highway Patrol said the crash occurred around 1 a.m. when the 1997 Honda Lindsey Hudson was driving hyrdoplaned.

She lost control of the car and hit a guardrail, Fleming said.

Lindsey Hudson was pinned in the vehicle and freed by members of the Iredell County Rescue Squad. She was taken to Baptist by Iredell EMS and later died in surgery, Fleming said.
