Freedom Christian Center

Redeemer's Light UMC

Relight is a Christian church that offers a casual, come as you are environment in which the message of Jesus is authentically presented in a way that is relevant to your everyday life. Sunday services at 10 a.m. at Mooresville Intermediate School, Coddle Creek Highway. Children's church, "Kidz Outlet" meets at 10 a.m. for ages 3-5th grade. Also on Sunday Hoop Night 5-8 p.m. will be at the Intermediate School. All youth middle school through college age are invited to join us for a night of games and fun. Wednesdays our Xtreme Youth group meets at the Fieldstone Presbyterian Church gym from 6:45-8:30 p.m. Life Groups are offered on a continual basis.

Williamson's Chapel UMC

The EverReady senior group's next meeting will be Feb. 3. Leaders will provide soup. Their mission project is to bring canned goods and paper products for the Mooresville Soup Kitchen.

The church is offering three new recovery groups, all meeting on Monday evenings. All three classes, Divorce Care for Kids, Divorce Care and Grief Share, will meet for 13 weeks from 5:45-7:15 p.m. in the upstairs of the B building, adjacent to the sanctuary. The groups began meeting on Jan. 26. Registration is necessary to order books. Materials cost is $12, and scholarships are available. Divorce Care for Kids, for ages 5-12, will be facilitated by Joann Simon and is designed to help children recover from the hurt of divorce. Divorce Care will be facilitated by Mary Lou Kornegay and Artie Whipple and offers support to help people during one of life's most difficult experiences. Grief Share, facilitated by Jerry Kornegay, who has a widower and Master's degree in counseling, offers help for those grieving the death of a loved one.

Williamson's Chapel United Methodist Church, 575 Brawley School Road, is offering a new Saturday service at the church at 6 p.m. "Connexion" has begun, and offers contemporary music, Bible messages and the opportunity to make new friends and worship Christ in a casual, friendly community. The singles ministry at Williamsons Chapel has ongoing events including: coffee time to welcome and visit with singles between services on the 2nd and 4th Sundays in the old parlor A from 10:45-11:15 a.m.; Bible study which meets Wednesdays from 7-8:30 p.m. in Room B201. Childcare is provided. No reservations are needed; Members work on a Habitat for Humanity program the first and third Saturdays of each month. Fieldstone Presbyterian

Fieldstone gathers for Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and for worship at 11 a.m. on Sundays and offers various activities throughout the week to deepen our spiritual walk. Anyone in the community is welcome to join for any or all of their events. Call to confirm time and location at 704-663-2188.

Studies will be held during the week as follows: Monday night study on "Mary, The Mother of Jesus" from 6-8 p.m.; Tuesday morning Bible Study on Revelation, from 10-11:30 a.m.; Wednesday night program, including children's choir, supper, Tonechimes, Adult Bible Study, and Children's Bible Study; Friday Night Theology on Tap at Beef O'Brady's from 6-8 p.m.; Couples' Bible study, the first Saturday of each month; and Spiritual Leadership Certificate Program, Sundays from 5-7 p.m.; Youth group meets twice per month.

The community is invited to join us for our weekly hotdog lunches, which are held every Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Donations are gladly accepted for this meal.

First Presbyterian

A workshop on personal finances from a Biblical perspective, "Discovering God's Way of Handling Money" will be conducted Jan. 30-31. We need to learn how God desires for us to address our financial needs and practices. Call or email the church office to register. Crown Financial Ministries is providing the materials for us. It will start Friday night from 7-9 p.m. Then return on Saturday from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Lunch is provided for $5 per person. Workbooks, a necessary part of the course, will be provided for $10 each. Childcare will be available, but only with prior notice, so let them know if that will be needed.

It is nearly time for our annual "Lent in the Living Room" small group series. Small groups meet once a week for six weeks during Lent, beginning the week of Ash Wednesday Feb. 22-28, and concluding the week of the 5th Sunday of Lent, March 29-April 4. The groups meet in homes or at the church to discuss the Scripture passage that the pastors will preach the following Sunday. This year, we are focusing on the Passion of Christ from Mark's Gospel. Signup for the groups will begin in February in the parlor.

Three sets of people are needed to make "Lent in the Living Room" work: People willing to host a group in their home for the six weeks of the series; people willing to facilitate—that is, lead the discussion—for a group with the discussion questions provided; and People willing both to host and to facilitate. Southside Baptist

Celebrate Recovery meets each Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The sessions begin with a meal. There is a step study every Monday from 7-8 p.m led by Jeff Rich.

Mom-to-Mom has announced the meeting schedule for February and March: Feb. 9 …The Peter Potential: Kids and Parents in Process; Feb. 23….Who's the Parent Here?; March 9…But How Does This Work for You? (Practical Perspectives on Discipline); March 23…Sibling Sanity: Oxymoron or Opportunity; and March 30……Who's the Building? (Biblical Blueprints for Family Life).

The youth of Southside are beginning to raise funds for several summer activities. They are putting together a cookbook. They need favorite recipes, which may be e-mailed to aanderson@sbcmooresville.com.

The youth are sponsoring a church-wide meal, variety show and silent auction on March 21.

The older GA Mission Project for February is collecting new or used Bibles in which they will outline the plan of salvation and distribute to the Soup Kitchen and Christian Missions. "It is written, that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word of God." Luke 4:4.

Southside's extended sessions for our Special Friends Class will be on Feb 1 and 15 and March 1 and 15.

Broad St. UMC

On Sundays, the Rainbow Ringers practice at 4:30 p.m., and the UM KIDS meet at 5 p.m.

On Wednesdays, the Master's Ringers at 6:30 p.m., the Joyful Ringers meet at 6:30 p.m. and the choir also practices at 6:30 p.m.

Pastor Mike has begun a Bible study on the Gospel of Luke on Sundays beginning at 5 p.m.

The United Methodist Kids In Action is sponsoring a soup meal with salad and potatoes on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 1. All proceeds will go to the Mooresville Soup Kitchen. This is part of a nationwide program to benefit local programs to help feed the hungry.

Coddle Creek ARP

Our Missions Conference will be held on Sunday, Feb. 8. There will be a covered dish luncheon following the worship service and then an afternoon session.

The Historical Concerns Committee meets on Thursday at 7 p.m.

A playgroup for moms and children is meeting on Fridays at 10 a.m. Contact Lisa Myers and Haley Bormann for more information.

The Coddle Creek cookbooks are available for $12 each.

A book exchange table is located in the foyer of the fellowship hall. All books can be had for 50 cents each. Proceeds will be divided between the Community Pregnancy Center and the Mooresville Area Bible Teachers' Association.

Covenant Kids meets on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. for supper, 6:30 p.m. for children's choir rehearsal and 7 p.m. for youth meetings.

A group is meeting each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. praying for the effort to plant a daughter congregation.

The youth groups meet at 5 p.m. on the second, third, fourth and fifth Sundays.

Berea Baptist

Join on Wednesdays for family supper at 6 p.m., for Berea Kids at 6:30 p.m. and adult Bible study at 7 p.m.

On Jan. 31 Christian Education Ministries will be sponsoring a day for the training of your church officers. The host church will be the First ARP Church of Gastonia. The speaker for this event will be Dr. Mark Ross, who will be speaking on "The Keys to the Kingdom". Dr. Ross will speak on the role of elders in admitting people to membership, dismissing people from membership, and church discipline. He will also discuss admitting people to baptism and the Lords' Supper and will include a presentation of "Why We Baptize Infants."

Greater Harvest Reformed

Huntersville ARP

Music rehearsals are held on Sundays as follows: ladies hand bell quartet at 4 p.m., hand bells at 5 p.m., and adult choir at 6 p.m.

The diaconate meets the third Monday of each month.

A men's luncheon meets on the first and third Wednesdays.

The ladies meet for a Thursday morning Bible study. Lunch is held on the first Thursday of the month.

Wednesday Nights in January, Pastor Crotts will begin teaching a survey of every book of the Bible. We will have the study each Wednesday night and the dinner and children's schedule will remain as we've done it this fall.

Mooresville ARP

A beginner's aerobic exercise class is held on Mondays and Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Fitness Instructor Amy Rankin is the leader.

The session meets at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 1.

The Sunday evening youth groups have begun meeting.

The deacons meet on Feb. 15 at noon.

The ARPs will have lunch on Feb. 11 at noon in the Family Life Center.
