Woman charged with theft from restaurant

A woman was charged with taking $600 from a Union Grove restaurant where she worked.
Wendy Kinyoun, 38, was charged with two counts of larceny by employee.
The Iredell County Sheriff's Office began an investigation into the theft of $600 on two separate occasions from the Burger Barn restaurant on West Memorial Highway.
The owner told detectives that it was believed an employee was responsible, and they began questioning various employees.
They learned that Kinyoun was the only employee who worked both weekends in which the money was taken, reports indicate.
Kinyoun, the sheriff's office, admitted she took $200 on Jan. 6 and $400 on Jan. 8.
