The Charlotte Checkers, a member of the ECHL, announce "Benefit on Ice," a fundraising evening to benefit Dove House Children's Advocacy Center.
At 4 p.m. on Jan. 18, the Charlotte Checkers will play the Florida Everblades at Time Warner Cable Arena.
The general public can purchase Attack Zone tickets, regularly priced at $20, for only $15. In addition to saving $5 per person, a donation of $6 per ticket will be made by the Charlotte Checkers to Dove House. Tickets must be purchased online at www.GoCheckers.com/fundraisers.
Dove House is also having a raffle, where one person will win an autographed electric guitar signed by the classic rock band AC/DC. The drawing will be at the game, and there will be other great prizes, including Panthers memorabilia.
Dove House Children's Advocacy Center provides services to sexually abused children and their non-offending family members. Dove House is building a new 6,400 square foot facility, which is currently under construction. Proceeds from online ticket sales and the raffle will go directly to the Building Fund. Dove House currently averages six newly-reported cases of child sexual assault per week.
The Charlotte Checkers continue the tradition of exceeding the expectations of their fans by providing a family-oriented environment at home games, quality broadcasts and a commitment to the Charlotte community.
"We hope to get a solid response from the community," said Jack Grossman, fundraising chairman for Dove House. "This is a great opportunity to support a great cause, save money, and enjoy the thrill of live hockey. Please go to the Web site and support this event."
