Southview falls just short in 5-game marathon

ASHEBORO - Southview Christian won the first game comfortably but could not turn that into a match win.

Southview won 25-14 to open the match, but lost in five sets to Fayetteville Street by scores of 14-25, 25-19, 25-23, 21-25, 15-5.

Hannah Deal was a monster at the net to record 17 kills while Brittany Paddock had 20 service points and served four aces.

Southview (0-3) hosts Cramerton on Tuesday.
