WINSTON-SALEM - Daniel DeGraff scored for Statesville Christian, but the Lions couldn't find the back of the net again in a 2-1 loss to Salem Baptist.
That mark pushed the Lions to 2-1-1 on the season.
Statesville Christian entered the game off an impressive showing at the Ridgecroft Invitational tournament over the weekend.
The Lions defeated Trinity of Raleigh 5-0 and routed Cape Fear Academy 7-1 to go 2-0 for the tournament.
DeGraff led the Lions offense by scoring four goals in the two games, including three alone in the opening contest.
Garrison Dale and Blake Dunlap scored two goals against Cape Fear, which gave Dale three total for the tournament.
Zach Delisi also scored twice and had two assists while Daniel Makar scored once.
