Statesville Christian challenged one of the state's top tennis program's Thursday and had little trouble in victory.
The Lions won five singles matches, many of the dominant, to easily handle Hickory High by a 7-2 score.
Diana Castano and Ali Burgiss each lost just one match or less in their straight-set victories.
Kristin Marchese provided support on the No. 5 court as well with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep.
Castano, Burgiss, Madolyn Essary and Kayla Revelle all won in both singles and doubles play for the Lions (2-0).
