A Hamptonville man was arrested in Yadkin County in connection with a drug conspiracy with roots in Iredell County.
Yadkin County Sheriff Michael Cain said deputies there arrested Jason Scott Holbrook on charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver a scheduled VI controlled substance, trafficking a schedule II controlled substance, trafficking a schedule VI controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling used to manufacture controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Holbrook was also charged in Iredell County with conspiracy to traffic more than 300 grams of cocaine.
A search warrant was executed at Holbrook's residence, and a total of 11.5 pounds of marijuana, 33.5 ounces of cocaine and 17 firearms were seized, Cain said.
This arrest was the result of a seven-month investigation involving cooperative efforts between the Yadkin County Drug Task Force, which includes the Yadkin County Sheriff's Office, the Yadkinville Police Department, the Elkin Police Department and the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation, along with the Wilkes County Sheriff's Office and the Iredell County Sheriff's Office.
Holbrook is being held in the Yadkin County Jail in lieu of a $500,000 secured bond.
In connection with this arrest, a search warrant was executed at the residence of Steven Edward Wade on Sharon Ridge Lane in Statesville.
A total of 18 marijuana plants, 12 ounces of marijuana and 20 firearms were seized, Cain said.
Wade was charged with trafficking in cocaine, and felony possession of marijuana.
Undercover agents made purchases of cocaine from Wade, authorities said. Information determined that the cocaine purchased from Wade came from Holbrook, said Iredell County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division head Capt. David Ramsey.
The investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected.
