A Harmony man was charged with breaking into a Hamptonville residence.

Brett Mason Alexander Jr., 23, of Harmony was charged with two counts of breaking and entering and two counts of larceny after breaking and entering.

Iredell County Sheriff Phil Redmond said that Detective Sgt. Derek Getz was investigating a break-in at a residence in the 100 block of York Spann Road, Hamptonville, that occurred May 26.
Around $28,000 worth of guns, jewelry and other items were taken.

Getz developed information in the case that led to Alexander, and the recovery of some of the stolen items, Redmond said.
Other charges are pending in this case.
