String of break-ins hits Union Grove businesses

Five businesses in Union Grove were broken into during the past couple of days.
The businesses included Triangle Insurance at 1465 W. Memorial Highway, G&G Lumber at 179 Lumber Drive, Union Grove Saw and Knife at 157 Sawtooth Lane, Union Grove Hardware and 901 Associates, which are in the same building as Triangle Insurance.
Four guns and a safe were taken from one of the businesses and cash and a guitar were taken from another.
The others reported nothing missing, but damage to walls or doors.
Lt. Andy Poteat of the Iredell County Sheriff's Office said the thieves gained entry to the businesses by knocking holes in the outside walls or by prying open doors.
The break-ins all occurred between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Poteat said there are few leads as to those responsible for these break-ins.
