When you think of October, what is the first thing to come to mind? Is it the change in the colors of the leaves? The greens to the reds and yellows. Or maybe it's the need for a heavier jacket to brace the cool winds? It is no longer summer you know. Or is it the thrill of the Thirty-First that keeps you on the edge of your toes?
Halloween is the one holiday that you can dress up in any kind of costume you want and run around with your friends, gathering candy. It's every kids, and even some adults, dream! It's a chance to rack up on treats, tell ghost stories, decorate you house and just have a little fun.
Now, have you ever wondered what else there is to do around Halloween? Have you ever wanted to take your friends to a scary place? A scary place like a haunted trail? A deep dark forest? A creepy house with a frightening story?
Well, if so, you should definitely try going to Carrigan Farms 'Forbidden Farms.' There are so many attractions at this one stop, it will surely make your head spin.
Spook you're friends by taking them on a Haunted Trail, or test your bravery in the Phobia Forest.. Dive into the 3-D Labyrinth, but be careful, you never know what's around the next corner! Walk through the Hells Harvest, one extremely large and moon-lit corn maze. Or relax a while by one of the many bonfires.
Forbidden Farms' reviews from the previous year were spectacular and this year only seem to get better. Their attractions have been enhanced, and they've even added the 'Phobia Forest' to their list of terrifying events.
The 'Phobia Forest' will test your strength and stir up all of your most horrifying fears. One of their mottos is "If you don't have a phobia coming in, you will have one when you get out," according to its Web site, www.forbiddenfarms.com
The 'Haunted Trail' will surely keep your senses brewing as you enter through the 25 foot Mayan Temple. It doesn't seem to be a problem if you're stuck in the front, the back, or even the middle; with spooky things coming at you from all directions, there's enough to go around even the largest of groups. It is said that some who enter must turn right back around and leave for the mere fact that they couldn't handle the intensity of this trail.
The '3-D Labyrinth' was one of last years "most talked about" attractions and it is back this year, better than ever. You will put on a pair of 3-D glasses and walk into an outdoor and wooded Labyrinth. It is sure to please any crowd who dares step in and, of course, will surprise you no matter where you turn.
'Hells Harvest' is one of the less frightening attractions that 'Forbidden Farms' has for you to try, but that does not mean it wont leave you scared and begging for a simple way out.
"It surprised me how hard it was to find my way out," said Lacey Teti, a junior at Lake Norman High School. This several acre maze is only moon-lit and is sure to leave you traveling in circles for hours with your friends.
