Have you ever found yourself stuck at home, wondering to yourself the question: "What in the world is there to do in Mooresville?"
Well, if you have, you are surely not alone. Most of this areas teenagers are unvaryingly engrossed in a near constant search for something interesting and fun to do with their down time. Lucky for them, the search for excitement is rapidly coming to an end.
If you were to take a short ride down Highway 150, heading into downtown Mooresville, you would find an extremely large brick building that somewhat resembles a warehouse. On the side will be the sign The Pit. Though it doesn't seem to appealing from the outside, don't let that scare you off!
The Pit is an indoor kart racing track that will blow your mind. The moment you step inside, the energy level skyrockets up. Guys and girls alike will all enjoy the thrilling ride in the fast lane, racing their friends and family.
Though extremely loud, to the point of near ear shattering roars from the karts, the excitement that radiates from the bottom floor is exhilarating. Protected by a metal gate and tire-walls that surround the course, safety is clearly not the issue at The Pit. The only issue is the fear of, actually, giving it a try. But, of course, most teens will be living to try this crazy course from the moment it meets their eyes.
Costs for the track range from the adult rates of $24 for one race or $65 for a three-race package. Youth rates are one race at $18 or a three-race package at $52.
For those who do not wish to jump right into the adrenaline rush, they can head up the large, black, staircase to the second floor of the building. There you will find an arcade room with a great selection of games to entertain yourself with.
Also on the second floor is a sitting area overlooking the track below. Family members, who do not wish to be roadside for the races, can venture up top to have a birds eye view.
As if kart racing and an arcade weren't enough to get you pumped for The Pit, laser tag is another attraction available now. With prices of $7 per seven-and-a-half minute game, it's not something you want to pass up.
Stepping inside the laser dome, you immediately feel the need to run and scream and just let loose as you play either a game of individual play with a few friends or team play with a larger group. Your crowd can even tally up to sixteen players if you wish, which would make the experience even that more fun.
In the dome, the bright neon colored walls and awesome fog machines give off a rush of electricity as each game begins. It's hard not to get into the game and just have fun. Any teen, or adult even, is sure to love it and only want more.
When asked if she would return to The Pit, Lake Norman High senior Ashley Davis said: "Yeah, I would definitely go back! If I could get a huge group it'd be even more fun."
So what are you waiting for? Get together a group of your friends and head down to The Pit, the experience of a lifetime is waiting for you!
