Mooresville's boys basketball team put up points in bunches last season.
Don't expect that to change, despite the loss of several key seniors.
"We want to play fast," Blue Devils coach Mike Micklow said. "That's one of our big strengths. We want to be up and down the court as often as possible. As much as we scored last year, I really feel like we can score that much this year."
Chris Patterson and Tyrell Sutton lead the group of returning players.
Patterson is a spot-on shooter from long range, but enjoys mixing it up inside against bigger post players.
Sutton is one of the most athletic players in the county and has benefited from Mooresville's up-tempo style.
"With Chris Patterson and Tyrell Sutton returning, I've got some guys that really love to fill it up," Micklow said. "We still need to have some team leadership, but I like what we've been doing so far."
Mooresville opens its season Tuesday at home against East Gaston.
